Are you a grandparent or great grandparent? The Catholic Grandparents Association (CGA) is a worldwide organization formed by and for grandparents, to support and encourage one another in this vocation.  The mission of CGA is “to help grandparents pass on the faith and to keep prayer at the heart of family life”.

The St. Faustina Chapter of CGA was formed in the autumn of 2023.  We meet once a month on a weekday for prayer, discussion, and fellowship.  Sometimes we engage in a service project or field trip in place of a monthly meeting. The discussion topics are usually taken from The Grandparents Handbook: Creative Ways to Show Love, Share Faith, and Have Fun, by Lorene Hanley Duquin, The Word Among Us Press, 2018.  The facilitator or guest speaker leads the discussion; it is not necessary for members to buy a book.  Enrollment is free of any dues or fees and all activities are voluntary, but it’s important to register with the ministry leader for planning purposes.

We meet on the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 11 am (HOWEVER, the April 17 meeting will begin at 10:45 am) at the church and will discuss the following topics:

On December 15,  seventeen members of the parish attended a pilgrimage, hosted by our Grandparents Ministry, to the Mary, Queen of the Universe, Basilica in Orlando, and enjoyed a personally guided tour, dinner, and the Basilica’s Christmas concert.

“It was a wonderful experience,” said ministry leader, Jerilyn Polson.  “We prayed for all grandparents and their grandchildren at the Adoration Chapel, enjoyed a beautiful tour of the Basilica, which included bronze statues of St. Michael the Archangel, Saul being struck blind, Peter and Paul, and Jesus and Joseph in the carpentry workshop.

“We had fantastic, reserved seats for the concert, which was packed with people standing.  The music was amazing.  Everyone had such a great time and every aspect of the pilgrimage was a blessing.”
