Decade-a-Day Ministry
This ministry gathers parishioners who would like to commit to praying one decade of the Rosary every day, regardless of their location. Whether at home, at work, at recess, in the car, on a trip, walking the dog…, or anywhere, it only takes three to four minutes of your time.
When you join this ministry, you are able to pick from a list of available decades (i.e., Mysteries of the Rosary). You will then be added to a list of 19 other people to make a full 20-decade Rosary! This is a wonderful way to increase your prayer life, and anyone can do it. Your intentions are your own, and our intentions are remembered in several churches and shrines around the country.
In each of her appearances, Mary asked that we pray the Rosary. Who doesn’t have have about five minutes each day do something powerful and positive in their life!

AN OVERVIEW
What is it?
“DECADE A DAY” is a program in which 20 people pray one Decade of the Rosary daily for one year.
How is it accomplished?
The Rosary consists of 20 mysteries or “decades.” Each volunteer signs up for one Decade and prays that Decade daily. For example, if my decade/mystery was the Visitation, then that is the Decade I would say each day.
Along with the regular prayers associated with each Decade, an additional prayer or two is added to complete the introductory and concluding prayers for each Rosary. (For example, if my Mystery was the 2nd Joyful (The Visitation), then I would say an extra Our Father with my Decade every day. See the Directions Sheet for the specifics.
What if I forget to pray or cannot accomplish it in one day?
You can pray your decade at any time during the day–if you miss a day, you can make it up the following day, along with your decade for that day.
Why should you do it?
The Rosary is such a powerful prayer for the family and for peace. Unfortunately with our busy lives, many of us do not say a full Rosary each day. With this program, 20 “committed” people can complete one full Rosary every day. And it only takes minutes.
We ask that our members pray for their intentions and for all those praying with us.

Through your part of the prayers, the group offers up a 20-decade Rosary every day! As a member of this ministry, you and your intentions, which are your own, are remembered in several places daily.
How long is the commitment?
Our parish signed up for one year, and we renew each year. Our parish renewal month is June. We have an opportunity to change Mysteries when we renew if they are available. You also may sign up for more than one decade at any time (if available).
We have many people from other states and countries, too. You do not have to belong to this parish. All are always welcome.

How to Participate
MY MYSTERY IS:
Your decade consists of The Sign of the Cross, one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, and one Glory Be. After those prayers, pray: “Oh my Jesus, forgive our sins; save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy.”
In addition to your decade, if you have the:
1st Mystery, you will say……………. The Apostles Creed
2ns Mystery, you will say…………… An Our Father
3rd Mystery, you will say…………… Three Hail Mary’s (For Faith, Hope and Charity),
Glory Be and Oh my Jesus prayer
4th Mystery, you will say…………… Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in our valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus. O clement, O loving. O sweet Virgin Mary.
Pray for us O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
5th Mystery, you will say……………. O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries in the most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise; through the same Christ our Lord, Amen
