In June, our parish held its first-ever blood drive. A total of 24 parishioners gave a pint of blood, which had the capability of saving 72 adult lives and up to 96 infant lives.
In case you missed the “thank you” letter, published in our bulletin on July 21, by Robert Derby of One Blood, St. Faustina’s parishioners out-did themselves and crushed expectations by donating 24 pints of blood at our June 6 event…the first-ever in the 12-year history of the parish. Short-staffed at that event, Blood One has promised to double its staff in order to cut our wait time in half.
YOUR willingness to step up and help the community gave One Blood the capability of saving up to 72 adult lives or up to 96 infant lives. Can we count on you…AGAIN…on Sunday, August 25?
Can I Donate?
If you have questions about any of the subjects below, please call our main number at (1-888-936-6283) for more information.
Many potential blood donors believe that they can’t donate blood due to medical or other reasons. But whether you’ve heard or read information about donation restrictions or been turned down in the past, please do not self-defer. You may be able to say “Yes I can!” and share your power through blood donation.
We're also looking for doners between the ages of 16 and 18. SET THE TREND!! During the last drive we didn't have anyone in this age group donate. If you are 16 or older YOU CAN DONATE with your parents’ consent. Forms are in the bus and must be filled out by a parent in the presence of a Blood One staffer.
Jesus’ Blood Saved Our Lives…”THANK YOU” for saving others!
