PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED (these are announcements that were in past bulletins and have been archived for your review)

2018 MASS INTENTION BOOK IS OPEN FOR SCHEDULING--Reminder of the new procedures we had to install back in March of 2017 in order to be fair to all. Because we have grown somewhat, Parishioners/requesters may offer NO MORE than 3 Masses per month. Requesters are only permitted ONE intention per month on the WEEKEND, and 2 intentions per month on weekdays. Masses must be paid for at time they are put in the book. If someone calls to “hold a date”, there is no guarantee it will be held for more than 5 business days. Customary offering of $10.00 per intention must be in hands of parish office to finalize scheduling. Only one intention per Mass unless from same family (no more than 3 names) and approved by Pastor. Again, to be fair to all, this is done on a first come/first serve basis. Preferred manner of scheduling is to come to parish office. NO PRIVATE INTENTIONS will be scheduled on Christmas, Easter, Mother’s & Father’s Day, All Souls day, Thanksgiving Day, Holy Thursday and any others blocked off by Pastor. Due to Pastor’s Obligation to offer Mass for the Parishioners weekly, there will be one weekend Mass set aside for that on a rotating basis. Please be understanding of the need for these procedures and be kind to the staff as you deal with them.

MEMORIALIZING OPPORTUNITIES--There is now a seating chart of all the previously memorialized chairs in the glass bulletin board outside of the usher’s room in church. If you have not found your chair yet, look for the person(s) name who you memorialized and you should be able to find it. Many thanks to those who have joined us in this endeavor.  There are chairs still available.  If you are interested in memorializing a chair, please contact the office.

OPPORTUNITIES TO HELP THE PARISH  THROUGH THE USE OF LOCAL BUSINESSES: MATTRESS DOCTOR, a store in the Publix Eagle Ridge shopping center north of us on Rte. 27 (2430 US HWY 27, Suite 330, Clermont). They have furniture as well as mattresses. Their owner, Rene, would like to help our parish by offering 10% of any sales if you identify yourself as coming from St. Faustina parish...Eiana Villarta, Kim Nigreli, and Donna Ross, parishioners and Real Estate Agents, are offering a portion of their commission to St. Faustina’s Construction Fund... Sinaisky Nunez, owns an AC & Heating business: Sale, installation, service for residential and commercial. Yellow flyers are available on the bookcases and the customer who contracts with him and has a flyer will earn a 10% donation for the parish. HANDY MAN SERVICES & HOME CLEANING SERVICES is owned by a couple from Scotland who have been in the area for about 11 years. They have offered us 20% of business they get from anyone using these flyers which have “St. Faustina Church” handwritten on them.

MINISTRIES

LEGION OF MARY is looking for new members. They meet on Mondays in the Church from 6-7:30 PM.  For further information, please contact Rosalba Nadales.

PILGRIM VIRGIN OF FATIMA HOME VISITATION: The Legion of Mary is also offering this visitation in YOUR home. Families hosting the statue are asked to set up a small home shrine where the Blessed Mother’s statue will be placed and then they are encouraged to invite friends and neighbors to your home to pray the rosary. Legion members will bring the statue to your home and pray the rosary with you. The statue may remain in your home from one week to one month with the family praying the rosary daily in its presence. If interested, contact Maria again. There is also An Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in your home, that follows a similar procedure. If interested, contact Maria.

DECADE A DAY MINISTRY SEEKS NEW MEMBERS--We are looking for special people to join our St. Faustina Parish Decade a Day Ministry. You would be committing yourself to praying for 5-10 minutes a day from now until the end of May 2018 when we renew the commitments for all of the mysteries for another year. If you are already praying a Mystery, please consider adding another Mystery to fill this need. I myself pray two Mysteries every day and there are others who do the same within our group.  Your Decade not only goes toward your intentions, but also for the intentions of all the members of our group as well as for the intentions of the national Decade a Day Ministry.  If you feel you can help, please call Joanne Ernest at 845-235-6015 or email me at jernest1253@aol.com.

PRISION MINISTRY NEEDS HELP--The Diocese of Orlando is seeking individuals who love our Lord and are willing to serve him as a minister to the incarcerated at Coleman Correctional Institution in Wildwood, Sumter County.  There will be an Informational Briefing on Prison Life and Ministry to the Incarcerated on Saturday, July 30th from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00- p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Leesburg (1330 Sunshine Avenue; Leesburg).  Please contact Deacon Mike Balchus at: (352) 818-9275 or mbalchus@ccstpaul.com for more information.

GOT SOME TIME ON YOUR HANDS? LOOKING TO PUT THE GOSPEL INTO ACTION? There is a Food Bank in the strip mall behind Wendy’s, just a couple of blocks south of us. It is managed by Pastor Michael Hopewell of the New Water Church: a local Christian church. They have been there about 8-9 years (I only found out about the food bank a couple of months ago). At the present time, they have a couple of women taking care of the bank who would love to have more folks to help. There are also certain times of the month when they could use some able bodied young men to help unload trucks with food from Second Harvest, which supplies them. If you are interested in more info, feel free to call 352-999-1213 and identify yourself from St. Faustina’s, and see where it goes. Remember, all Christians are called to carry out the corporal works of mercy, like feeding the hungry.
