GOT SOME TIME ON YOUR HANDS? LOOKING TO PUT THE GOSPEL INTO ACTION? There is a Food Bank in the strip mall behind Wendy’s, just a couple of blocks south of us. It is managed by Pastor Michael Hopewell of the New Water Church: a local Christian church. They have been there about 8-9 years (I only found out about the food bank a couple of months ago). At the present time, they have a couple of women taking care of the bank who would love to have more folks to help. There are also certain times of the month when they could use some able bodied young men to help unload trucks with food from Second Harvest, which supplies them. If you are interested in more info, feel free to call 352-999-1213 and identify yourself from St. Faustina’s, and see where it goes. Remember, all Christians are called to carry out the corporal works of mercy, like feeding the hungry.

ATTENTION ALL PARISHIONERS…(from Father Dave regarding future Mass Intentions)--As we all know, since our move to this location, our parish has continued to grow and get more registered full-timers and part-timers. With this blessing of growth also comes some growing pains. Due to the expansion, and in an attempt to be fair to all, we have instituted new guidelines for offering Mass Intentions. Since we only have 1 priest available, we are only allowed to offer one daily Mass (except for Holydays), which means only 1 intention per day. Canon Law of the church sets rules we must follow such as suggested offering for a Mass intention is $10, and the “pastor” is bound to say one weekend Mass for the People of the Parish. In an attempt to be fair to all, the following have been put in place: Parishioners/requesters are limited to only 3 Mass intentions per month (only one allowed on weekends, the other two on weekdays). We will not schedule more than ONE Mass for the same intention in the same week (even if offered by different requesters). Requesters may have more than one intention in the same week if they are for different people and does not exceed the monthly limit of 3. Only one intention per Mass unless from the same family (no more than 3 names listed) and approved by the pastor. There are certain days of the year that are blocked off from Private Intentions such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Christmas and Easter. The Mass intention Book for the following year (e.g. 2018) will open on the Tuesday after Labor Day in September. No intentions are to be scheduled beyond the end of the current year (e.g. 2017) until then. We pray for your patience and understanding in this sensitive situation.
